Just another bad day
'Just another day' I thought to myself. Nothing really exciting happened in my life, and there was a reason for that, I'm smart enough to know better. I've always stayed hidden from society. Being a white and black night fury is not the best thing in the world.
Well, as I was walking down the beach, I heard loud roars, and snapping wood in the distance. My curiosity got the best of me and I started to walk to the point where all the commotion was coming from. After walking for what seemed like 5 minutes, I finally came to a trench like thing. It was beautiful! There was a lake, with the suns beams hitting the ripples just right to make the perfect arrangement of glowing specks on the water. This little valley was as green as it could get. Tons of grass. Lots of trees. The only thing that made me want to leave was when I noticed a fellow night fury, and a very pissed off monstrous nightmare fighting to what seemed to be the death.
I watched for all of 30 seconds when I saw the nightmare completely knock out the fury. That's when I noticed the red fin on his tail. I recognized him right when I saw that fin. Plus he had a saddle, so he must be companions with a human. I had seen him before. I had not talked to him, more like a quick glance and I was gone. He called himself toothless, or so I had heard. He didn't threaten me like others would have. There was just something about him that made me feel good inside.
I immediately shot myself to where toothless was. That nightmare was about to finish his "kill" when I completely tackled him to the ground. Toothless was still passed out on the ground over by the lake. Just then, the nightmare directed his attention toward me. He blasted his thick fire at me. Fortunately, I had better reaction time than most night furies so I was able to dodge it. The fight was intense and lasted for what seemed like hours. I had been cut and was bleeding heavily in many places. I was mutilated to a pulp. But no matter how much I got injured, I would always stand my ground to protect Toothless.
It was right then and there that I was going to end this fight. I took the biggest breath in of my life. I shot out the most deadly blast of fire that I had ever seen. It was horrifying but at the same time beautiful. It was white with a light blue rim, making the entire forest glow. It all seemed to go in slow motion. All I saw before the nightmare had disappeared was this extremely bright ball of fire and ice. It was almost mystifying. The sight was magical.
I breathed heavy puffs of air in sight of what had just happened. I looked at myself. I was a mess! There were cuts and scrapes everywhere on my body. The scent of blood was in the air around me. I was sore from head to tail. I turned around to see Toothless conscious and sitting at the lakes edge. I stood there for a second just staring at him. He seemed to be concerned of what had happened to me. I managed to smile a little. Then, out of nowhere, everything started to fade and go black. The last thing that I saw was the ground. Luscious green grass. The last thing that I heard was a thump, the grass rustling in my ears, and footsteps coming toward me. All I felt at that moment was pain and regret.

I woke up seeing a fire blazing in a little pit in front of me. I felt the hard wooden floor and the heat from the fire. I looked at my left leg to see a splint. I must have sprained it. My wounds were cleaned and covered. But I wasn't focused on that. I could sense a presence behind me. I couldn't move my body one inch to see who it was, but I did know who it was when I looked toward my tail. I could see an all black tail with a red fin where another black fin should be. I immediately knew it was toothless. But what I didn't know was why he cared so much about me. I guess right now it didn't matter. Right now, for the first time in my life, I didn't feel scared or alone or rejected. I felt safe, fearless, and needed. For once in my life, I felt… loved!
Good job!
